Shea Halula earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Communications from Concordia University-Wisconsin. He then went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling from Concordia as well as going through the Concordia University Teaching Acceleration Program. Shea has a Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Shea previously coordinated educational programs for Starting Point for 5 years before his current position. Shea has professional training with substance abuse prevention & intervention programs, evidence-based programs, and youth-focused programs.

Sue Marten

Sue Marten

Tobacco-Free Suburban Milwaukee & Ozaukee Counties

As the Coalition Coordinator providing service for 23 communities and 12 public health departments surrounding the City of Milwaukee and all of Ozaukee County, Sue Marten, BSW, LSW has been working in tobacco control in Wisconsin for 15 years. Sue has worked with the Division of Public Health’s Southeast Regional Office in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of local and statewide tobacco control efforts funded through the Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Control Program. She provided advocacy and education to successful, local community tobacco-free and electronic cigarette – free policy initiatives in Shorewood, Greenfield, Wauwatosa, and South Milwaukee. Sue is a tireless supporter for statewide smoke-free air.

Alice is a graduate from Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and minored in Education. She is the LEAD and Champions Coordinator for the Northern Ozaukee Schools. Alice has a passion for working with children of all ages and is excited she gets to educate the youth about drug use prevention.

Stacey Murray

Stacey is a graduate of UW-Stevens Point where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Business. She is the LEAD and Champions Coordinator for the Mequon-Thiensville School District. In addition to her 16 years of management, merchandising, design, marketing and development experience in the retail and wholesale industries, Stacey has held numerous positions on Mequon-Thiensville School District, church and other organizations’ committees in Ozaukee County. She has always enjoyed working with students of all ages and is enthusiastic about helping to educate and train the area youth on alcohol and substance abuse prevention.

Scott Karcher

Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Miami University, and is finalizing his studies at MATC for a Certificate in AODA Counseling as he works towards his Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) certification. In addition to his 30 years of management, operations and marketing experience in the healthcare and retail industries, Scott utilizes his personal and internship experiences to drive his passion for working with individuals and families suffering from the effects of addiction. Scott provides research, organizational and community relations support to Starting Point, while also serving on committees for the Ozaukee Heroin Task Force and the INVEST program.

Kerry Young

Kerry Young

CSAC - Case Manager for Ozaukee County TAD Program

Kerry earned degrees in Sign Language Interpreting and Human Services, received specialized training in AODA assessment and intervention, and is a licensed Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. He performed his internship with the Gilane Center, a local AODA treatment provider. Having grown up with Deaf and developmentally disabled siblings, Kerry has a special sensitivity to individuals with disabilities and addictions, the marginalization they can face, and how that impacts their ability to participate in society. Kerry is also familiar with the vibrant, local community of people who are in recovery from alcoholism and addiction, which allows him to be an excellent liaison and resource for individuals struggling with AODA issues, or legal issues related to AODA.
