Underage use of alcohol is a serious problem that often leads to harmful consequences for youth and their families. In an effort to combat this problem, the Ozaukee ATOD Prevention Consortium is conducting an aggressive media campaign called “Parents Who Host, Lose The Most: Don’t be a party to teenage drinking,” which is being coordinated by Starting Point. The plan follows a proven model developed by the Drug Free Action Alliance of Ohio.
The objective of the media campaign is to inform parents that:
- It is illegal to host or allow teen drinking parties in your home
- It is unhealthy for anyone under age 21 to drink
- It is unsafe and illegal for teens to drink and drive
- Parents can be prosecuted under the law
